Child Abuse Restraining Orders |
| If a minor child has
been a victim of child abuse he/she may be eligible to file for a
child abuse restraining order. This order is a paper signed by
the judge that orders the abuser to stay away from the child or
face serious legal consequences. |
| To get a child abuse
restraining order, the minor child must be a victim of child abuse
as defined by law. In Wisconsin, the definition of child abuse
includes: |
| ►Intentional
physical injury inflicted on a child |
| ►Sexual
intercourse or sexual contact with a child |
| ►Sexual
exploitation of a child |
| ►Intentionally
causing a child to listen to or view sexual activity |
| ►Exposing
genitals or public area to a child |
| ►Permitting,
allowing, or encouraging a child to work in prostitution |
| ►Emotional
damage that parents or guardians neglected or refused to get
treatment |
| ►Manufacturing
methamphetamine in the child’s home or in the presence of a child. |
| ►Serious
physical harm to an unborn child and the risk of serious physical
harm once the |
|
child is born by the mother’s use of alcohol or controlled
substances |
